Carla Cackowski is a screenwriter, director, and improviser who lives and plays in Los Angeles. Carla has written for kids tv shows distributed by DreamWorks Television, PBS Kids, and Nickelodeon and was a semi-finalist for NBC’s Writers On the Verge. Her one-act satirical play Hell County, Florida was produced by The Second City as part of their premium show series in Hollywood and her monologues have been published in four different anthologies by Applause Books. Her comfort shows to fall asleep to are New Girl and Dateline. Her favorite movies include Portrait of a Lady on Fire and Stepbrothers. Carla’s favorite novel Jane Eyre is both problematic and wildly romantic because great works of art are often more than one thing. When she’s not writing or performing she’s probably collecting old polaroids of strangers or wondering what Linda Ronstadt is up to today. Carla loves writing dark comedies and horror films for all the broody gals who wanted to grow up to be Fiona Apple but have a secret spot in their hearts for the girly pops too.
