Originally from Kentucky, Carla has since collected leases and lived experiences from Ft. Lauderdale, Chicago, and Portland (OR). She currently resides in Los Angeles — which she genuinely loves!
Carla wrote episodes for television shows on PBS Kids, DreamworksTV and Nickelodeon Network. She was a Semi-Finalist for NBC’s Writers on the Verge. She’s repped by Maddy Weese at Bellevue Productions.
Carla writes girly poison. She’s fascinated by the darker side of the female bond and explores those tricky and (sometimes) sickly dynamics in her written work.
Switching voice for a lighter tone…
I’m also a comedic improviser! I currently tour the world teaching and performing improvisation with my two-person show, “Orange Tuxedo”. I taught improv and sketch comedy at The Second City LA for over a decade and performed on mainstage improv teams at both UCB and iO West. I toured on a cruise ship with The Second City, traveling to Europe, Alaska, Bermuda, South America, the Bahamas… other places, I’m certain. I currently teach improv at WGIS in Hollywood and regularly perform there, as well as at Outside In Theatre in Highland Park.
